I cup of bi carb of soda ( baking soda )
1/2 cup of citric acid
1/2 cup of Epsom salts
1/2 cup of corn flour
1 teaspoon of water
2 teaspoons of essential oil
4 teaspoons of olive oil
3 - 4 drops of food coloring
Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl with a whisk
In a small glass bowl or jar mix all the wet ingredients together
Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ones mixing / whisking constantly as you go. Don't add too much of the wet ingredients or it will foam up.
Press the mixture into bath bomb moulds or silicon baking moulds.
Dry overnight or put into a warm oven for 45 minutes. The oven temperature needs to be as low as you can get.
Gently unmould when cold and hard.

ReplyDeleteMy sons girlfriends was trying to make these a few months ago. I think she mastered it in the end but it took a bit of practice. The problem was she wanted to make round ones and we didn't have a proper mould. I would be happy with ones like you have created.

ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to make bath bombs with my girls for Christmas gifts. Where can you buy bigger amounts of citric acid? At woolies I've only seen the McKenzie's brand for 75g.

I bought a bigger bag from Hindustan Imports in Dandenong. Your local herb and spice shop should sell it.
