  1. Hi Wendy,

Thank you so much for this post. I was running low on both AA & AAA batteries, Morning Fresh and chocolates and waiting for a bargain. We don't get any catalogues (junk mail) delivered to this area and I'm not a fan of browsing online catalogues on a weekly basis. Oh, you won't believe how much I miss all those junk mail.

This evening I was to go out to buy bread and some other stuff. Just before getting into the car I realised it was a Wednesday and checked my emails but there was nothing from you. I didn't give up and went to your site to check and hola .... what did I find?

My brother is visiting us very soon and he loves baked beans. Guess what I found in the store? Half priced Heinz baked beans. (As soon as I enter a store, I grab a catalogue and browse it for bargains.) Now I have quite a few cans of three types of baked beans - English Recipe, BBQ and Tomato. This was an amazing timing for me. So I thank you wholeheartedly for this particular post.

Those who are interested in Cadbury chocolate might like to check the isle end first; I mean where there are huge boards saying 1/2 price, in the front. They have loads of different types of chocolates on a number of shelves and I found a Vegemite chocolate there - (Diary Milk milk chocolate with smooth flowing caramel and VEGEMITE). This is a limited edition too. I didn't see any on the normal shelf.

I couldn't taste this yet before writing to you but I love Vegemite and thought why not. And, thank you again for your Vegemite tip the other day. I did some shopping for Vegemite too since I got your email and now I don't have to worry about having to buy Vegemite on full price again, at least not for a few months.

I really appreciate what you do for us posting grocery specials on time. You make our lives easy and let us grab those bargains to fill our pantries. Now I understand what you and Cath always say about filling the pantry with half priced or 'on special' food items. If you had not started sending those grocery specials, I wouldn't have bothered to go online to check on specials before leaving home.

Please keep this up for all of us. Your time is not wasted because we (I take the liberty to thank you behalf of all of your fans) bless you each and every time we learn something new from you or grab a bargain on your timely posts.

May you all be blessed with good health, happiness and peace!
    Best regards,
    Millie

  2. Coles also has the Basa frozen fish fillets from the deli - $5.50 kg. I tried these on the family last time they came on special and they loved them. I went back and bought more before the sale ended. I asked for frozen fillets which I could place into my freezer. They have them frozen out back but put them in the counter display where they defrost. Our current favourite is a fish mornay.
Also Australian navel oranges $1.60kg are really nice and a good price at Coles.
Woolies have Starburst lolly bags for $1.34 and Imperial Mandarins for $2.20kg which I'll be getting loads of. Sue

  3. Hi All,

At my local Coles they are clearing Dole Tinned Pineapple for .99c. This used to be the price I got it for at Aldi's but has since crept up.
Also be aware: Coles are selling Carrots for 0.60c, for a 500gm bag not a 1kg bag and these are baby carrots.
Also the Cadbury choc chips that Coles had on special in last weeks catalogue were $3.00 for 200gm bag. I noticed the new packaging and these are now 200gm bags instead of 230gm bags, be aware it's a bigger bag but smaller quantity.
    Thanks,
    Maureen

  4. I will be stocking up too Wendy on the soup special. I used tins like these instead of flavor bases in jars.... a can of tomato soup over steak as a sauce in the crock pot, a can of mushroom in beef stroganoff and so on. Instant success flavor wise. Also I cook up my own stock and add huge amounts of vegies. Very often at the end I add a can of soup and blend. It just ups the flavor. Anyway I am going shopping today and hopefully can get a good supply! Thank you.xxx
