  2. Hi wendy. I saw some toothpaste today for 50 cents each. Is it bad to use expired toothpaste?. They expire on the 9th of sep 2015. Colgale and oral b toothpaste at the reject shop.

    1. I don't pay attention to the expiry date on toothpaste. But I would be concerned if it's from the Reject Shop and it's a parallel import. Colgate said it should never have been let into the country.

    2. What is a parallel import?

    3. Parallel, or "grey", imports are shipped in from overseas without the permission of the local trademark owner. Generally they skip the usual distribution channels making them cheaper for the consumer. These products have had labelling problems with not all ingredients revealed.

My family has noticed the qualitiy is not the same as " the real deal ". My parents bought Colgate toothpaste from a discount store to find it had black flecks in it. When they rang Colgate to complain they were told this product should not have been allowed into the country.

You really do pay for what you get.

  4. May I add some IGA specials? They have Lynx body spray/deodorant for $2.70, save $3.20 this week. Also Palmolive shower gel 400ml $3.99, Palmolive dishwashing liquid 500ml $1.79 (this dilutes beautifully 50:50 with water), Helgas bread $2.79 a loaf (an excellent price), Kleenex Cottonelle 48pk $17.99 (21c/100 sheets, not as cheap as Aldi but still a good sale price) and Dove soap 2 x 2pk $4.29 ($1.08 per cake) - they didn't have any pink Wendy,I checked with you in mind :)

IGA are also price matching with Woolworths/Coles so lots of regular products have dropped in price or are even cheaper than at either of the big 2. I had a lovely time this morning exploring my local Super IGA in detail, I usually just fly in, pick up the sale items and fly out again.
