  1. Some really good ones this week. Thanks Wendy! Mimi xxx

  2. Thanks Wendy, that is a massive saving on cosmetics at Big W and in time for Christmas gifts as well. I love Loreal so this suits me.
There are a few good specials that I will get this week. It pages to watch and swoop. Many thanks, Annabel.xx

  3. Hi Wendy. I enjoy your Blog! I am thinking of buying the easiyo yogurt maker. (as it is on special!) I only eat the plain greek yoghurt. Can I make this with the yoghurt maker and do I need to buy the sachets or is there a cheaper way of making it at home with my own ingredients? Thanks Michelle

    1. Michelle, I've only made greek yoghurt from the sachet. Sorry, but it was too sour for my family. I have heard that you can purchase a starter online that keeps in the freezer. I'm not sure if it makes greek yoghurt though. Still worth investigating. Maybe buy the Easiyo while it's so cheap. Then if you can't find a way of making greek yoghurt, give it as a present. I've never seen the Easiyo this cheap.

I'm trying to think of anyone I can give the Easiyo to. I've bought so many as presents over the years.

  4. Thanks Wendy.

Just this week I bought a second hand Easiyo and thought I got a bargain at $10, so Woolworth's price is amazing!! Think I might have to pick one up for my DDIL.

  5. Hi Wendy,

Thanks heaps for your updates on grocery specials. I bought my second Easiyo (half priced) and few sachets. Last time when Cath said Easiyo were half priced I missed it and bought one on full price. But it didn't give me a window to do some experiments I wanted to do as I had only one jar. Now with two I'll be busy for a while.

Though my first and second frozen starters worked for me until now (never used a starter for the third time yet), I thought of buying few sachets. In case they were not effective, I don't have to buy sachets on full price. They expire in 2017 so I don't have to worry about their expiry and they definitely won't be here until then. Just wanted to share my 'over the moon' joy with you. (If you remember me, I had an issue making my own the first time as I forgot to buy a sachet and used a week old store-bought yoghurt from the fridge as a starter and it didn't work and I had to seek help from you and both you. Fortunately you and Cath kindly jumped in to help me.)

Thank you so much once again and I appreciate very much what you do for us.

    1. Of course I remember you Millie. With a lovely name like that how could I forget.

Having two Easiyos does make it a bit easier to make a starter then make a sweet or flavoured yoghurt. I use the sachets as a starter then freeze lots of portions from it.

I'm glad the yoghurt is working for you xoxo

  6. Hi Wendy,

I'd like to make Cranberry Hooty Creek Biscuits to give as christmas gifts. Where do you find is the best place to buy Cranberries, I haven't noticed them on special.

    1. Cranberries were on sale in one of the supermarkets a few months ago. Another place to buy them is herb and spice shops. In Melbourne it would be Hindustan Imports. SPC canneries are another great place to buy them. Some fruit and veg shops stock dried nuts and fruits.

    2. Thanks Wendy, I'm in Adelaide so sounds like a herb & spice shop might be the best place (likely cheaper than the supermarket). Thanks again.

  7. Hi Wendy,

I'm sorry for taking your time but I need your advise on adding flavours to homemade yoghurt, please. I read your post again but I'm not sure whether I should refrigerate it for the second time to get it set.

Should I add the flavours once it is set in the fridge or just after making it and before putting in the fridge?
Will it set for the second time if I add the flavours and refrigerate again? How do you do this?
(I've had added flavours just before eating but would like to eat 'flavoured yoghuurt' from the tub.)

Thank you so much in advance. I was too excited yesterday and forgot to ask you. Remembered only when I was about to make a 'lavoured batch'.

    Thank you.

    1. I've only ever added flavours just before eating. I don't think it really matters if you flavour it before or after refridgeration.

If any readers have flavoured their yoghurt you're more than welcome to help Millie.

    2. Thank you, Wendy. I'll add the flavours just before eating until I get some help or do some experiments when I feel like. If I tried it and it was a success, I will definitely let you know.

      Have a nice weekend!
