* I was called in to volunteer at the community pantry again and ended up staying there for 4 hours.
* Megan and I wrote a menu plan for the next 7 days.
* I made 3 bottles of air freshener for our bathroom using essential oil and cooled boiled water.
* Made egg custard using really cheap milk I bought the other day.
* Beef stew cooked in the slow cooker was on the menu for dinner.
Egg custard for dessert. |
Yesterday my granddaughter announced it was a granny day. That is her usual routine. So we saw her briefly on the phone. It is difficult for a two year old to understand the new normal. I am so grateful for our modern technology. I pottered around the house and did some chores. My son left for a contract as a chef in a mining town today so we had a roast lamb dinner because he won't be home for Easter and he loves his lamb dinners.
ReplyDeleteGod bless and stay safe.
Yes, I can always find things to do at home.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you blogging again as I enjoy reading all your tips etc. you are much more organised than I. Nice to see you are able to volunteer at the food pantry in such a time of need for many. Hope your new grand baby isn't keeping you awake at night but I'm sure you love helping out with cuddles when you can.
ReplyDeleteYour custard looks yummy Wendy. Sounds like you are keeping busy.
ReplyDeletePlenty of action still going on around here. Today I went for my usual walk, put the slow cooker on for our dinner/tea, made hamburgers for lunch, spent time outside in the garden pulling out tired veggie plants and planting garlic. Also dug up my Jerusalem artichokes, harvested kale, tomatoes and beans. Set up some pots for planting garlic. Made no-chicken pot pie for tea {just added puff pastry on the top}, apple and rhubarb crumble for dessert.

Never enough hours in the day Wendy.
ReplyDeleteOur darling granddaughter aged 9 is staying with us, so schoolwork this morning.
We made Pom poms together and we’ll make them into a garland for her bedroom.
Did loads of washing, changed sheets and repotted some plants.
Tried to tidy my craft cupboards 🙈 a never ending project! Handfed some of our goats, they are such characters with very distinctive personalities.
I’m really enjoying your blog, so glad you are back.
I know you’re super busy especially with the new Bub. Hope all is going well.
I’m starting a veggie patch. Do I put seeds straight in the soil and what seeds would I try to sow now Wendy?
Is there any way you could do a post on how you started your productive garden if you have time please Wendy?
Hope you and the family all stay safe and well xxx
Love all of your posts. Hope you are getting a lot of positive feedback. You are adapting beautifully to a home with 2 families for now. I am inspired by all you do!
