Abundant Cottage Adventures Monday 27th April 2020

Another beautiful Autumn day was enjoyed by our family.  Here's what we got up to -

*  Darren and I enjoyed a toasted hot cross bun with a cuppa out on the deck.

*  I dug up a couple of bushes that had grown too big for the garden space they were in.  I transplanted them to a better spot.

*  Pruned one of the feijoa trees.  I was surprised to find about 10 feijoas on the ground underneath.

*  Chunky chicken and vegetable soup with crusty bread was on the menu for dinner.

Soup for dinner.

Have you started making soup since the weather has become milder ?

  1. Hello!
We have a chicken about once a week and I always make stock from the carcass. This makes two medium sized jars of stock so enough soup for four days for two of us. Apart from vegetables I add turmeric, ginger and often garlic to increase immunity. Sometimes I add pasta.I pretty up the bowls with herbs on top as I have so many in the garden. I really enjoy the change in seasons and mark autumn by making soup and using the slow cooking for warming dinners.
    Baby Luka is adorable!

  5. I love soup, but my husband isn't a fan. We are also in California, where the weather is trending towards summer, so it's not soup season here. Your soup looks fabulous!

  6. Soup and bread always makes a lovely meal. I need to make some more split-pea soup soon as we've been enjoying it for dinner often and I don't have any left in the freezer. Meg:)
